Nia Archives is the new musical phenomenon from the UK. The rising star of the jungle scene has just released ‘Silence Is Loud’, an acclaimed debut album that is going over the tongues. After first gracing the bill at Dour this summer, she returns this autumn for a much-anticipated indoor show of her own in our country. Nia Archives is coming to la Madeleine in Brussels on 12 November.
At just 24 years old, this young British singer and producer has become one of the key figures in the international jungle scene in a very short time. Dehaney Nia Lishahn Hunt aka Nia Archives, originally from Leeds, moved to Manchester at the age of 16, where she discovered her first raves. Influenced by this culture, Nia Archives, who grew up in an environment full of music, was soon inspired to create her own sound with electronica, dub and reggae influences coming from her Jamaican heritage. In 2022, she made a name for herself with the track ‘Baianá’. Its power created worldwide fame. She then moved to London and released ‘Headz Gone West’ (2021), her first EP, soon followed by a second one titled ‘Forbidden Feelingz’ in 2022. The final move that put the musical train on track where Nia Archives is today. Collaborations with artists like Jorja Smith and Fred Again soon followed… and even featured as a support act for Beyoncé in London. Inspired by the soul of Amy Winehouse and the pop of Rihanna, Nia Archives likes to build bridges between the underground world of jungle and that of pop and rock, which she manages to achieve perfectly in her productions. Live, she is able to take us back in time and drop us in our minds in the middle of the nineties at a rave in Manchester, the cradle of underground electronic music. Meet at La Madeleine on 12 November for a crazy musical experience!
