From the very start, Carolina Durante have been swimming against the tide. It all began one night after a Los Punsetes gig when they decided to start a band. And they followed through: they assigned roles, and the next day, they went out to buy instruments—guitar, bass, drums… All of this at a time when urban and Latin music were taking over the charts and becoming an inescapable global soundtrack.

Perhaps it’s this willingness to take their own path—and their ability to hold onto that same excitement they had on day one—that has set Carolina Durante apart. These are the very things that have made them the most vital band of their generation and, in many ways, responsible for a revival of guitar-driven rock and pop.

Carolina Durante are a kind of supergroup—the only one in the world not made up of members from other established bands.
