Rilès is a 29-year-old singer, songwriter, composer and producer from Rouen, France. He obtained his baccalaureate with honours in 2013, then studied English literature at the University of Rouen to improve his writing skills (French being his mother tongue). Thanks to the scholarship he received and the paintings he sold (Rilès was a part-time painter before devoting himself fully to music composition), he built his own studio in his bedroom and taught himself engineering, mixing and mastering via YouTube. With DIY (Do It Yourself) as his motto, he has produced, written, recorded, mixed, mastered, and designed every track, and has also directed and edited all his music videos since 2014.

Rilès set himself the challenge of releasing one song per week every Sunday for an entire year for the first time from September 2016 to September 2017, without any songs being pre-recorded (he named his challenge “RILESUNDAYZ season I”), which pushed him to adopt a crazy work ethic and discipline, while also bringing him great visibility, completely independently and without any help from a record label (over 100 million views on his YouTube channel).

In 2019, with greater maturity, style and a solid team of close friends and family, as well as a deal with Republic Records, Rilès released his debut album, Welcome to the Jungle, on 30 August. He then embarked on a sold-out tour
of Zeniths in France from October to December 2019, and also played to sold-out crowds in London, North Africa and Eastern Europe. Two years later, Rilès made the bold choice to regain his independence by launching the second season of his Rilèsundayz challenge. This new chapter not only marks a return to his roots, but also reflects his desire to never settle for comfort. Committed to his community and his artistic evolution, season II of Rilèsundayz presents an increased level of refinement, both aesthetically and sonically, offering a deeper and more enriching experience to his audience.

After completing the RILESUNDAYZ Season II challenge and still eager to push himself physically and mentally, Rilès set about creating his second album, entitled ‘Survival Mode’. He then took a break of over a year to refine his musical signature, but also undertook an extremely ambitious artistic and physical challenge: running non-stop for 24 hours on a treadmill (Survival Run). To achieve this, his lifestyle underwent a radical change. He followed a very intensive training plan, running
approximately 20 to 30 kilometres daily, with the guidance of professional ultramarathon runners, adding a new dimension to his personal journey to demonstrate the power of the mind over the human body. ‘Survival Mode’ was released on 10 January 2025 and marked a triumphant return for Rilès. The ‘Survival Run’ performance received international acclaim, reaching nearly 22 million views in 24 hours and propelling Rilès and his art into the spotlight.
